I love hearing about, and seeing pictures of, other bird rooms! I am currently in the process of turning my office (bye bye office) into one.

The first thing I am doing is ripping out the carpet and putting pergo down. I have pergo in my living room and hallway and it's worth it's weight in GOLD when it comes to dog nails, and wheels on the surface.

I plan to put some hanging toys/playgyms and standing play gyms in there with their cages.

I also plan on putting in an air filter to help with dust and dander.

The closet will be shelved so I can put all their bird food (and my dog and cat food.) I also want to get bins for bird toy parts.

I already own a scale and will use a calander or dry erase board to keep track of their average weights. I think its very important to know your parrots weight, as weight loss can be a sign of illness.

I also want a small radio that I can put in there. I was debating getting a room darkening curtian for the one window, so when the sun pops up at 6am they won't immediatly start their day. My only issue with a curtian is I can see birds climbing on it now.

What do you have in your bird room? Did I miss any necessities? I know someone who has a T.V in theirs, but I'm not going there yet. :blue1:
