In a few months we will be painting the bird rooms! Woo-hoo!

Right now one room is bright red and the other is a deep blue color called admiral.

https://www.google.com/search?q=olympic+paint+admiral+blue&client=ms-android-verizon&prmd=sinv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjhqoXE17_QAhXGa7wKHXbUBTMQ_AUICCgC&biw=360&bih=559#imgrc=SsAqih4mUjstVM%3A

The blue room is going to be the big bird room. A Blue and Gold Macaw and a Red Lored Amazon will be caged in there, along with their own line of toys and perches on their own sides of the room.

The red room is my bedroom but will house my Conures (Jenday, normal gcc, and sun) with their play areas. (I literally just have my bed, a papusan chair, and a closet in there with drawers under my bed).

I really love the blue color in the other room but I think it's too dark for a bird room. I want them to feel comfortable and calm so I'm looking to change the color of both rooms but still want to make them look good.

I really want to do color not just white or cream. All the cages and accents are black. We are going to paint on April with low/no VOC paints while the birds stay with a friend for a few days.

What colors will be easy on the eyes for the birds but still make the rooms look eye appealing?

Just my oddball idea...
I wonder if it would be cool for the birds to have the paint suggestive of their natural habitats. Like... green walls, blue ceilings for jungle birds... or a mural resembling their habitats would be interesting. Or you could hang pictures of jungle flowers and stuff on green walls.

P.S.
You just made me want to paint Patagonia murals in the Rickeybird's room!

I like the green walls suggestion, or you could hold up a bunch of colours to the birds and see what is given the best reactions, ha ha, have fun!

Next time I repaint, the bird-room will likely have a combination of green and blue. Love the idea of a blue ceiling with some diffuse white patches as clouds!

What's really funny is that I gave honest consideration to seeing of I could get wall paper with a Rainforest scene for the walls ha-ha.

I actually had a rainforest mural in my room as a kid. A bunch of trees and leaves, with the sun in the background and a lemur and what looked like an amazon, with some lizards and bugs. It was awesome, though long gone. I would do a green/lught green and light blue. If you want it to be interesting, but simple and not expensive, do the bottom 3/4 green and the top quarter and ceiling blue. Easy to do, wont really cost much more and super cool for the birds.
