Hey I'm new here, and have a quick question - what birds would you recommend to someone who isnā€™t inexperienced with birds, but hasnā€™t long-term owned one yet? A fair amount of birdsitting experience, a lot of research done and the money will be set aside (with extra) before even a cage is bought, to make sure it's financially doable.

Birds that need to come in pairs should be a-ok!

Hey, with such a wide open slate, why not a Golden Eagle. Yup, that was humor. But, with such a wide open slate, why not.

Point being, so very much more than financially considerations are involved: Like how much time you have for the Parrot? How stable your life is at present? Do you own your home or live in an apartment? Where you live and the nearest of a CAV Certified Avian Vet. Do you have transportation at your call to quick get to a CAV? What type of Parrots have you worked with and are comfortable being around.

So, as you can now see, asking someone to provide you an answer that has meaning more than a Golden Eagle, requires much more from you then you have provided!

If you have a Parrot Rescue anywhere near you, go there and provide them as much of your time (for Free) for the next year and you will find an understanding of Parrots and the reality that 'If You Let The Parrot Choose You! You may just find the best Parrot for you will be very different from what someone may suggest or even you WANTING this or that Parrot.
