hey all,

my name is austin and im from ohio. i have always grown up with birds. i lived with my grandma and she always had a parakeet or something around. i was always bit by them and never really cared for parakeets. she now has a cockatiel that hisses at me and lunges at me with evil intent...lol. when i was 16 i got a mitred conure named rex. he was older but i fell in love with him. he was my best bud. we ate together, took showers together and went for walks in the park together. i was absolutely devistated when he passed away a couple years ago. i got rex cremated and have his urn and picture in my living room. i wanted another bird but knew no other bird could compare to rex. finally my girlfriend got me to get another bird. his name is bubba and he is a green cheek conure. i absolutely love him. on the car ride home when he was on my shoulder i just was like wow it feels so good to have a bird on my shoulder again. i really missed it. hes a pretty kewl bird. although he will never be rex i love him still.

but yeah i live with my girlfriend, bubba our two dogs and my girlfriends growing snake collection. i am not a fan of snakes but as i am a bird man she is a snake woman so we both have compromised.

as for hobbies i enjoy the simple things in life like going down by the river and having a picnic with my gurl or going for walks at night with my gurl and our dogs. i also love to fish and hunt. i like having bonfires and sitting around them talking about life and enjoying some good beer. well thanx for readin my intro i look forward to meeting fellow bird lovers on this forum.

Yes welcome. I hope you do not locate the birds cage near the snakes. Snakes are predators and birds are prey. Your bird would be very frightened. congrats on the bird. We have some forum members who know about conures more that I do. Conures are the clowns of the bird world.
