Hey everyone, long time no see! Been super busy lately.

Awhile ago had angel into her first vet visit. just for routine stuff. Everything went great and she is healthy.

I just wanted to post again about the health insurance i have for her under VPI pet insurance. I think having some health insurance for you pets is very important, i have it on all my dogs as well.

So i just wanted to post an example of what they paid out for this routine vet visit, just to give people an idea. The cost of the appointment was $132. That broke down to a Panel, culture, physical exam, and office call. Where the different items on the billing.

The insurance paid out $110 to me.

I pay $24/month for angels insurance. That price could be reduced but i opted to pay extra to have yearly visits and routine care included.

So just this one visit pays for almost 5 months worth of health insurance payments. To me i think this is very worth the cost. If something major were to happen, i wouldn't have to worry about spending thousands of dollars, and would still be able to do everything needed to give her the best chance, regardless of cost.

I think anyone that has a bird, should consider this. If you opt to not get the routine care included, and only for emergency stuff, it almost cuts the monthly price in half.

The process was very easy, i just gave my vet a copy of the claim form and they filled it out for me. Then i sent it in. About a week and half later i get a check in the mail. Very very painless and smooth. I was happy with VPI as its always an unknown with insurance companies until you actually have a claim.

I do not work for or get paid to promote VPI...it is just who i use, and i believe one of the few insurers would will insure more exotic pets.

Thanks, i hope this helps someone, see you guys around!
