I got a short clip of Bingo grooming himself and making this weird noise.
It's a quiet noise and you may have to turn up your sound.

Does anyone else have an Amazon that does this ?

Not sure whether its that sound of the feathers zippering back together or a humming like sound occurs when they breath while grooming their feathers.

I don't hear this with our DYH Amazon, but it was common with our Yellow-Winged (hybrid Blue-Fronted) Amazon. In reality, he did nothing that didn't involve some kind of noise. He couldn't sneak-up on a drum player, if he had too.

I think Merlin maybe doing the same thing but he only does it when he is covered.
I have some videos to post of Merlin flying and acting out. Will upload that later.
Want to know if it’s normal for a young Amazon to fly like the devil is chasing him.

Julio is our first Amazon near half of Thirty when he took over ownership at 16 years old. The others have been well over that age. He is working on 22 now and is a strong flier.

Have seen young Amazons in action, and your statement: They fly like the devil is chasing them is so accurate. A combination of Youth and the Joy of Flying!!!
