I've noticed recently we've been getting more and more posts on tricky topics. Most of us wish these situations would have never happened in the first place, but the amazing ones reach out, work with the situation, and try to improve things.

I just want to thank the members of this forum:

The former and current breeders who understand to triage the situation when it comes to baby parrots' lives at risk, offering advice without judgment. Those who warn preemptively, but accept the situation when advice is not taken and work to help where they can. Even when the same advice is repeated over and over again for different OPs, the patience is astonishing to see.

The members who speak from their own experiences and mistakes, able to be humble enough to acknowledge their past and hopefully advising others to learn from their mistakes. Those who connect with OPs in tricky situations and help them not feel so alone.

The members who lend their perspectives and knowledge, seeking to bridge a gap between the OP and other members commenting. Those whose empathy and understanding sometimes touches enough to change minds and assumptions.

I also want to thank our amazing moderators. You guys always step in, occasionally doling out tough love to the bullheaded of us, but more often than not, you guys celebrate even the smallest of achievements with every single member on the forum - new and old. I know you have to keep mum on certain things you personally disagree with to remain an impartial mod, and I respect th out of you guys for that. And still, you keep careful watch over us, deftly mediating situations most of us would get too hot-headed about (at least, I know sometimes I have to close a thread tab before reopening and responding nicely).

Keep being awesome :)

Well said charmedbyekkie, I agree with you 100%. What a rich resource we have in this forum and it’s knowledgeable and generous members, you included. I’m sure there are many precious birdies out there who are living happier lives because of all the help and support their parronts find here. Long may the gracious work of our valuable contributors continue:)

Thanks so much for the observations and testimonials, charmedbyekkie! PF is a magnificent community inspired by shared love for all things avian. Every component must mesh for effectiveness and longevity, foremost the membership eager to share encyclopedic knowledge. Newcomers help broaden the base and keep the good times rolling!!

I am absolutely chiming in. The Forum is a critical resource for me... information... encouragement... marital counseling...

I so love this post. I have said it before, but it bears repeating that I think we have the best members here of any forum.
Charmed, you really nailed it here in what makes this place wonderful.

Thank you for your kind words about the Mods as well, that means a lot to me and I know to the other Mods as well.

Charmed, thank you so much this thread, your kind words are very much appreciated. There are lots of parrot forums but none measure up to our own, IMHO, I may be a little biased. Our members create the magic again and again in so many ways. Just like our beautiful birds, we are all individuals and the way we care for our feathered loves often varies greatly, Ive seen so many beautiful solutions posted in response to all kinds of various questions and issues posted by new and experienced owners, some solutions that would have never occurred to me. On countless occasions I’ve read the first post in a thread and while I was searching for the words to best answer I read further to find three or more members have supplied amazing support and creative options, not cookie cutter answers but real answers that can be applied and make a difference, in those cases, I smile and remind myself how wonderful and diverse our members really are.

Thank you! You are appreciated!

You learn something new everyday. The more resources and people, the more we all learn from each other. Everyone makes mistakes, we all were beginners at some point, some learn from picking apart their mistakes to see what went wrong, or other people mistakes. It the willingness to learn from the mistakes, allows us to grow from failure.

TiredOldMan said it best, “You don’t have to be crazy to love parrots, but it helps!”
