OMG, what a chicken! I hung Harley's new toy on top of his cage, and he approached it like it was going to eat him! Took almost 15 minutes before he could relax enough to begin playing with it.

SHHHHH! Don't tell him that he's actually a Panama Amazon disguised as a big green chicken! LOL!

What an awesome looking toy. Valentino would of jumped on that thing and began ripping it up and chewing on the toy bits. As I am putting a new toy up he is already on it and is a pest while I am securing it. LOL.

Birdman's saying is so true. Afraid then possession. LOL.

I know I will have to go through a whole new learning curve after I get my Panama amazon. I am sure will be very different in likes and dislikes than my RFM. As I type I can hear Valentino had unhooked the foraging wheel toy from its holder and its flapping against it. *sigh* I got to go reattach it before he unhinges it and it crashes to the grate.

I was wondering how big Harley was. How much does he weight?

15 minutes,,, that's nothing. I'd say he's a very outgoing Pan. PS let me guess... 325 grams, next year,,375.

I have no clue as to how much he weighs. I haven't picked up a scale yet.

Well, that's great to hear that taking 15 minutes to get acclimated to something new is considered outgoing by amazon standards!

I LOVE that toy, and I LOVE seeing pictures of Harley. :D Birdman cracked me up with "Recoil in horror at first sight of the thing... then... it's mine!"

They almost always recoil in horror at first sight of new stuff...

And, what is that horrible thing you just put in my food dish. That's not what I usually eat... NO! Don't take it away...

I actually set down a toy that talked on top of the cage the other day.

Just to Illustrate the difference between zons and big macs...

The two zons and the cag were sitting on top of the cage at the time. They ran to the opposite side of the cage, pinned, and squawked at it...

My RFM ran over from the other side of the big playstand, charged across the cage door and instantly went into full on attack mode.

THEN, the friggin' zons wanted their turn, and the CAG pulled the RFM's tail to try and distract her from it and sneak off with it...

:32: Never a dull moment! :32:

Very vivid Panama you have there! How old? Is the black on his beak because he's a young bird or is he one of those funny Panama subspecies?

How big are the Panamas compared to a yellow shouldered?

Nice looking bird.

Around the same size as a yellow nape.
