RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Big Bird, my "old soul" Moluccan suddenly passed away last Friday. He was absent any visible signs of illness or distress, but was almost certainly a very aged bird. I acquired him 30 years ago from a family-breakup situation; they represented his age based on their experience and prior circumstances as 25 or greater, and was likely wild-caught.

Big Bird was a gentle giant who NEVER bit and was adored by the 4 Goffins in his room. Always intriguing to watch them interact, particularly as his massive beak gently preened the smaller Too's feathers.

RIP Big Bird, you were well loved and are missed.

Oh Scott! I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Big Bird :( That's heartbreaking news. He sounded like a very special guy with a great temperament. He sure had a long and enriched life and loving environment with your family and his closest bird friends.

So very sorry to hear of Big Bird's passing. I know he will be missed by many.

Scott, I am so sorry to hear this. Sounds like Big Bird had a beautiful temperament and that, regardless of his actual age, any time would've been too soon to face this loss.

Given the love and care you give your birds, I'm certain his life with you was a good one and that he departed knowing he was loved.

Fly free and soar high, Big Bird.

I'm so sad to hear of Big Bird's passing. He sounds like a wonderful soul, indeed. I'm happy that he had a long, happy life with human and avian friends. I'm sure he appreciated his life with you. May your sadness today give way to a lifetime of warm memories of your friend.

Sorry for your loss. I know how much this one must hurt...

Oh no ,Im so sorry :(

So sorry to hear that, Scott. It's always so hard when we lose someone we love. Sending lots of love and hugs to your flock.

Oh Scott, I am so very sorry for your loss of Big Bird. I know how dearly you love your birds. Big Bird was very fortunate to have been a treasured family and flock member for so many years, I wish all Toos were so fortunate. Big Bird's flock mates will also feel the loss of their friend, they will be a comfort to you.

Fly Free Big Bird, you will be forever missed.

Hugs to you and your family, Scott.
