:greenyellow: Hi everyone!! We need your help!
My name is Beth and my husband and I are the proud parents of 2 african greys, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 9 koi and 1 very special yellow naped amazon that is in desparate need of a new loving home!

We live just outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and run a dog grooming salon out of our home. We are trying this forum in hope that we can find Ludwig a new and loving home where we know he can find the love and happiness he deserves. He is a yellow naped amazon is is roughly 30 years old. We adopted him from an older gentleman who was very ill and wanting the same thing for "luddie" that we do. His previous owner passed away 6 months ago. He is a very healthy bird and has a brand new cage and toys, he has been with us for about 15 months.

In all honesty luddie has some issues and that is why we are trying to place him.
He HATES me - (females in general)! He loves my husband and all of our other pets, but is quite aggressive with me and has bitten me "badly" more than once. For this reason, we tend to leave him caged most of the time which is so unfair to him when he loves to be out and about. He used to get his wings clipped, but even with out being clipped he is used to not flying. He is quite fast on legs though! 2 other things, he yells Paul NON-STOP when he sees people eat, he LOVES HOT FOOD! The other thing, funny at times, but quite embarrasing, he tends to fall "in love" with men and can get alittle arroused when is sees his favorite person. We are placing him free of charge, but want him to go to the right home with lots of love, I have tried everything to no avail. Please help if you can.:(

Hi Beth and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry your here under such an unfortunate cercumstance, I have to say that yellow napes are my favorite of the Amazons and I always enjoy working with birds that can sometimes be a challenge, if I were closer I would take Ludwig in without a second thought, I truely hope he finds a very good forever home, hopefully even after you place Ludwig you'll stick around, its a great forum, thanks for doing whats best for Luddie :)

Welcome. Hope you find a good home for the bird. I am too far away and the wrong sex to help.

Firstly, welcome!!! Hope you stick around for a while.

I would love to take him since I'm not that far, but Amazons are not really my type of bird. I wish you the best of luck in finding him a home :) Ludwig really is a cutie.

Poor Luddie. I hope you can find him a good, loving home. I love Amazons and wish I were in a position to take him.

There is a special section of this Forum where you can offer parrots for sale or adoption; it might help you find Luddie a new home if you post about him there. Good luck to you and Ludwig!

Hi and welcome to a wonderful friendly forum.
I pray Luddie is placed in a loving home with a loving family, he deserves another chance of happiness.
There are rescue centres where birds are looked after, whilst seeking a suitable home for them.
Spiritbird will inform you with certain links pertaining to rescue centres.
Good luck

Hi Beth: I can highly recommend the Baily Foundation for your bird. I know how they are set up and some of their foster people. The male foster person takes in the med. to large birds and he is fantastic with them, especially to work on any behavior issues. They will keep him until he is ready to be adopted by a suitable family. Here is the link:
