I was wondering - what do you consider the best/favourite and worst(wish they'd stop that! ;) ) things your fids do?

I will start :

Best : I think almost everything my precious Percy does is special but my favourite thing is when he 'gossips'. If you're able to catch him at just the right time and ask him "who made you cross?", he will make the most adorable little crying-type sounds and "tell" you all about it. And if you then go "really, baby? Shame, my poor birdy! Such nasty people/scary birds/dogs!", he gets so into his gossip mode that he drops his head, ever so 'sad' and 'cries' and mumbles about the terrible life he has. It cracks me up!

Worst : Percy has selective hearing and/or understanding of the English language. He understands very well, during the day, what it means to "come" or "go home" (go to his cage) or "do you want this nut/toy/whatever". BUT, as soon as the sun dips to close to the horizon and it gets close to bedtime, he goes deaf. He will NOT come, go to his cage for bedtime (even if he's wobbling on his gym from sleepiness) or be bribed/coerced into anything. He won't even look at you or acknowledge that there is someone in the room LOL! He loves his cage and he loves to sleep in it but if he's not already in his cage, you're in for a challenge. He will ignore you completely until you try to pick him up and then bite you! Only my son can pick him up at this time without getting nipped. Silly bird ;)

Bosley boy

Best is when he snuggles right up in the crook of my neck and preen my hair. He makes all these really cute cooing noises. He will sit for a long time doing this.

Worst is when he does flying attacks on people.

I have too many to list....lol....But I'll pick the macaws to talk about....

Best with Willie & Lola, they can be sooooo sweet and cuddle bugs when they want to be and they act so darn cute.

Worst with Willie & Lola, they scream hell like no tomorrow when the back door is open. Lola learned it from Willie. They only do it when the door is open....

HAHAHAHA these are so funny!

Chili's best: snuggle moments with her are the BEST- she does the lion-poofy face and gives me plenty of kisses while making little soft noises lol

Chili's worst: I wish she would stop being so dang determined to chew on things she's NOT supposed to chew on  like window frames and the WALL of all things! I always have to stay one step ahead of her...

Galah
Best: everything except the worst, but mainly when she goes all like a cat when she's getting patted and closes her eyes and looks all dreamy (and does the lion poofy head too).
Worst: biting me and trying to wreck my stuff when I've spent a fortune on getting her her own stuff.

Weiros
Best: They do that gossip mode. They have "conversations" with me. They don't mean anything, but Tony tells me all about it and I agree with him. Doris whistles and chirps.
Worst: Won't let me touch them (yet!). Not that keen on fresh food (yet!)

Budgies
Best: During the "great escape" of 2013, Dottie didn't run away from home. They play with the stuff I spend a fortune on. They have lovely singing voices.
Worst: Nothing really.

LOL!! I'm so lucky that my baby doesn't chew on anything except his own stuff....yet ;)

He's recently discovered the joys of chewing wood and has just finished destroying his first whole toy ever! He has moved swiftly on to another so I do suspect I won't be so boastful about him 'not chewing my stuff' very soon! :D

Mishka's best is when we are having daily conversations.
He snuggles up to me then looks me straight in the eye, and ask so many questions.
When I reply he says "What did you say mommy? " LoL
No matter how many times I reply he still says "What did you say mommy?"

His worst behavior is when going to put him to sleep in his night cage.
He tries to bite my thumb, holds on and begins to swing upside down.

jakiepoo the YN hen
Best; I can't decide, there's so many things she does that make my day. Being sweet and cuddly.
Worst: demanding sex every AM when she's in season, everything is a possible nest (including the freezer when i open it) or wanting to kill any bird i pay attention to.

I wonder how she would answer that question,LOL.

Worst: demanding sex every AM when she's in season,

:D:D:D:D
Not many men complain about that, I think!

Great thread!!
Ekko: Best is when he is talking to himself, the all of a sudden he looks at me and says Hey You!
Worst is when he will not stay off Darwin's cage, and also forgets the English language when I try to get him to step up off there.

This thread is great! ^^

Arya's best: When he's preening my hair and when he jumps after he sings pop goes the weasel.

Arya's worst: when he nibbles at my keyboard nonstop whenever I use my laptop. Lol

Best, from a practical point of view how she is with other people - no jealousy or aggression, and always wants to meet everybody who comes round. From a personal point of view it's probably snuggling into my chest and taking a nap while I watch tv or surf the net, and her own little language of squeaks and chirps that I now know the meaning of each one.

Worst, she's so scared of anything that's not familiar to her, and it's so frustrating because I can see how much better her quality of life would be if she'd learn to embrace things instead of shying away from them. I keep working on expanding her horizons but it's an extremely uphill journey. Seeing her upset or stressed is always a far worse feeling than anything she does that would constitute 'bad' behaviour (well, except possibly for the time she accidentally bit me on the nipple!).

I neglected to comment on my Jackieboy bird, so here goes -

Best - Jack is a very easy bird. He makes no demands whatsoever. As long as he a stick of millet and his mirror, he is a happy boy. He never ever bites!

Worst - this doesn't bother me because I sleep like someone in a coma but...he regularly wakes the rest of the household, pets and humans, with his 'late night solo's'. He goes to bed at about 7pm just to wake up, in the pitch dark, between 11pm and midnight to serenade 'something' in his cage. We don't know what/who he sings to because if we peep under his cover he stops. But his nightly serenade goes on for about 20 minutes and then he goes back to sleep...leaving everyone else awake and frustrated LOL!

I LOVE this thread!

Oliver's Best: When he says, "Momma! I love you Momma."

Oliver's Worst: Lately in the evening when we are doing dinner dishes he makes this very shrill sound every time we are talking to each other and not to him. I try not to laugh to avoid encouraging this behavior...

Chico's best: Falling asleep perched on my thumb & learning against my hand. He's just like a little puffball since I can't see either of his legs.

Chico's worst: Food seeking missile mode. When he sees something he wants nothing will stop him. Fear is nonexistent. His new favorite is yogurt. Watching my kids as he commanders their spoons halfway to their mouths is hysterical though.

I love this thread! I giggled the whole way through.

When I had my cockatiel, I loved when he would come onto the couch and run up and kiss peoples cheeks and preen their hair. He would get so excited when ladies would put their hair over the back of the couch.

I hated the nights when he wanted to sleep on the back of the couch. He would attack me, and then fly back to the couch.

My daughters budgie, blueberry, would sing so beautifully every morning. I will never forget it.

I strongly disliked how he screamed when he couldn't see us. We had a small house and he could see us from almost every room. But if we would go to the bathroom without him he would get upset. Actually, thinking about it, it was only really the bathroom he didn't like us to be in....

Top thread! :D

Dominic's best: when he bobs his head and cuddles up to me, waiting for a scratch
His worst: when he lunges and latches onto my flesh for no apparent reason (OWCH!)

Barney and Madge's best: always wanting to be near (on) me and being happy just to sit with me for ages on end.
Barney's worst: calling for me, loudly and at length during various periods of the day
Madgie's worst: getting pretty aggro when I put my hands near their cage.
