Parrots
Cockatiels - Oz & Kaila
So, I've noticed that Oz has a feather out of place since yesterday. I didn't realize it at first, but upon closer inspection I saw that it's actually bent (quite a bit too). It doesn't seem to cause any pain at all when I press on it.

Is there anything I can do about it or is it best to let him deal with it himself? I'm not 100% sure when or how it happened but it could have been when my alarm went off yesterday morning.

Just leave it alone, as he molts it will be replaced with new feathers. Parrots often mess up their tails, not much we can do about it. They can even damage their tails in the biggest of cages. The time to be concerned is if the bent or damaged feather is a blood feather.

Like Copper already said to just leave it be. If it splits in the middle of the shaft you can either clip it or yank it.

Oh he probably just klutzed and broke it. If they're hanging and flapping around I usually just snip them off at the bend.
