Well It was a long day for all of us. I would not have guessed that he would do so well traveling. He made the long trip in a pet carrier on my wife's lap with out a peep. He is a very quite and shy guy, he has some personality quirks that we will have to work on over time due in large part to little to no human interaction. He warmed right up to my wife and I. He gave us both kisses "so adorable" but he has never been scratched or petted before. He is afraid of hands and very protective of his cage. We didn't push him. It was all about getting him home and settled in we have many many years ahead of us. Today was just about getting HOME.

The new cage is on it's way.

What a lovely bird... He'll be a bit apprehensive, until he settles into his new home...

I think he'll come around quickly...

Congratulations!

What a cutie!! I'm sure he'll love his new home!

What a handsome boy! Kazi was the same way when I brought him home - neglected, afraid of hands and very shy. He is none of those things now! I bet Benny catches on quickly too.

He is beautiful and looks very healthy! Thanks again for rescuing him.

Beautiful for sure healthy not so much. Going to make him a vet appointment on Monday. His nails are so long they are curled back in to his foot, and he seems a little over weight. He has been on a seed diet with no regulation, allowed to eat all day long. The girl we got him from said that he would never play with any toys. Im led to belive that it is due in large part to his diet and never seeing sun light. A healthy bird is a happy bird.

He doesn't look bad at all. Hopefully a nail trim, healthy diet and sunlight will be all it takes. Pete was on seed as well for 28 years and got a pretty good vet check. he is now on pellets, has a full spectrum light, eats veggies, fruit, etc. and plays with toys.
