JJ-sun conure hatched roughly 1/16/2012

Cinderella-white and blue female budgie hatched 4/08/12

Rigby-white and blue male budgie hatched 5/05/2012
So after we got our sun conure, we decided we wanted to add a green cheek to the group as well. I found a wonderful breeder and we waited...and waited...and waited for our baby to hatch. FINALLY they hatched and we made an appointment to meet the babies after they had gotten a little bigger so we could pick out our new baby.

Well the day finally came where we were suppose to go pick our baby and she had a box of green cheeks that we dove through until we found "our" baby. Well at the bottom of the box happened to be two little quaker babies that my husband spent a majority of time playing with. So I decided to humor him and play with the quaker baby. It just so happened the little blue "boy"(not sure if it's a boy or girl we just call him a boy) was stilll available. So I couldn't fight my husband's sad puppy dog eyes and we decided to get the quaker instead of the green cheek.

So I am now mommy to a beautiful blue quaker named Glen. As soon as he stops being a crazy baby I will make sure to get some pictures but right now he is being a bratty baby and we are trying to work through that which is a very slow process with him.

I absolutely love the name Glen! I am bringing home a rose breasted cockatoo tomorrow and went through a million names, never thought of Glen and probably would have used that had I! Congrats on your new baby, love quakers!

it's from Walking Dead. We're a huge fan of that show right now. We go through tv show themes when we name are animals. We have a huge fish tank filled with Criminal Mind theme fish, as well as our conure JJ. We now have 2 ragdoll cats name Darryl and Merryl, also from Walking Dead and now we have Glen.

Congratulations on being chosen by a Quaker parrot-- and a big welcome to Glen! :)

I love Criminal Minds too! I also love Game of Thrones, couldn't really find a name from it that I clicked with! I love Dexter and once had a dog named after him. I too go through TV shows for names as well!

Thanks we have had him for 2 weeks and finally started making a little progress with him today. He is still very nippy but new he will atleast step up for us without wanting to draw blood. The breeder told me today he was the most opinionated baby she has seen, so I guess that's a nice way to say bossy? I actually got Quaker snuggles for like thirty seconds, before I tucked him in for bed, before he bit me, than turned sweet again. So this is progress, I think he recognizes me though because he is very vocal if I'm not here but when I come in the room he quiets down and waits on his step up perch for me to come get him.

Congrats on your new Quaker Glen ,he is beautiful. They are opinionated, full of themselves, little birds with a very big bird attitude. You will love him.:D

Aw little Glen is adorable!!! I went through phases of wanting a quaker soooo much (partly because we can't have them in NJ and forbidden fruit tastes sweetest). They really are too cute. The name is adorable....that was a name i had considered for a human baby. LOL
My Gilbert is named (in part) with a nod of respect to Gil Grissom from CSI.

Congrats on your new baby!!! He is so cute!!!!
