Penelope Primrose: Crimson bellied conure
Ok so long story short, I am a pet sitter who does overnights at clients houses from time to time. Anytime I have an overnight client my fiance takes care of my conure and puts her to sleep at her usual bedtime. The dilemm, he got called on a last minute business trip that he cannot get out of and I am booked to watch someones pets over night and agreed arrive at 8:45p...birdie bedtime is usually around 9:30. I have 3 days until this overnight sit would it be better for me to start tonight putting her to sleep earlier and seeing how it goes? or should I try a light on a timer? I really do not want to involve my clients if I don't have too, and my backup to my fiance is also away so I'm not left with many options. My concern is she's not going to fall asleep that earlier and I'm not going to be home that night to make sure she's ok. Any insights would be awesome. And for the future what do others do about their birds bedtimes when times keep you busy or you might not be home? Cause I always try to be home to try and keep the routine, but its hard with holidays, guest, work, etc
Thanks:grey:

There are a number of ways of looking at this. So, here is one:

Get approval from your over -nighter to get things going at their house and take a quick trip back to yours to get your baby to bed! Clearly, distances may be an issue, but it seems to be able to address everyone's needs.

In the future, work a floating your babies schedule so that you have some flexibility as to when bedtime is - very commonly at this time, but from time to time it maybe a bit earlier or a bit later. Try hard too avoid precise bedtimes. Life happens, and you need to build that into your Parrots schedule.
