Beautiful owl

This isn't the best picture but I thought I would share. This owl was just outside my house tonight. It let me get right underneath it. Owls are just beautiful!

I have Barred owls and Great Horned owls in my yard. Yeah they're neat, but they eat birds. The Great Horned Owls will haul off large chickens, i don't let the parrots out into the yard until way after sun up. Hawks are bad but owls don't miss.

I'm in Maine so it's way too cold to have my birds outside at all right now so they are safe. I was surprised at how close that owl allowed me to get.
