Our two year old cockatiel female had developed a pink bead-like growth just distal to her left nostril rather quickly. Within a week, it had darkened, and now, about 4 months later, it has not changed. There is no airway obstruction, and no evidence of any discomfort (rubbing, clawing, sneezing).

Other than it being a bit unsightly, is there any concern?

I have posted a separate thread related to egg binding in the same bird.

There was a another member that had a older tiel with a similar lump, but this birds was on the side of his beak. The bird ended up removing it himself.

Of course your best bet is a vet trip, especially with the other problem of possible egg binding

Good luck

I agree. The 'egg binding' symptoms have subsided, but you're right, a vet visit is in order.

Thanks,
Colin
