Charlie, a senegal
I have a 5 year old senegal that I adopted. They said that he was used to bathing in his water bowl (which he does not do here). I have tried to coax him into a shallow bowl of water for a bath, but he wants nothing to do with it. Anyone know how I can get him to bathe?

he might be doing it when you are not looking I know sidney will bath when I least expect it but when I try to give him a bath he screams and hollers. Just let him bath in his own time.

when I want Skippah to bathe I just squirt him with a spray bottle of warm water. He then preens himself.

Anytime anyone in my house runs a vacuum cleaner, all my parrots take a bath in their water dishes. Every single time. I think it's pretty common.
Even all the way on the other side of the house.. they hear that thing fire up and they dive for a bath!

Mac and Hammie just yell at the vaccum when it is running. They will both bathe in their water dishes when they get the urge and hammie loves showers. Try running water in the sink with a small plate underneah it. Mine both love that and will splash around in the shallow water.

I have a 'pool' for Keupi that's on his gym. It's actually what's used in reptile houses. He loves it.

I also have a bottle for house water (changed always) but this is like his play water. I have to change it at least twice a day, but in some ways it seems to provided a balance.

I still wonder about bathing (too much with showering with a mister??) but he does well with the pool...

...though if anyone can come up with a fid 'slip and slide' sprinkler system - I'm all for it!

Ummmm you can do what I do, take him into the shower with you just make sure it ain't too hot or too cold. Pretty much how ever it is comfortable for you, or if you like it all the way hot, a little less comfortable for you.
