Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...time for Mr Stinky to clean his butt once more.
So Uncle Joe was here tonight and we played cards. It was time for BB again to get wet. Same routine I thought,in the kitchen sink. So I cleaned the sink extra goodly while Beebs ran around my neck, back and forth my shoulder, down my arm to my hand, turn around, run BACK up my arm,to my shoulder, around my neck to the other side of me...DOWN that arm..to sit on THAT hand, whilst chirping and whistling all along...just to turn around THERE...and run back UP that arm...to run behind my neck..to the OTHER arm once again..down my arm..to THAT hand  repeat repeat REPEAT! Damn I'm dizzy lmao :D

So the sink is now clean, the water temp has been set,and it was time to plop Beebers in the basin. I think he knew what he was in for,and was looking forward to it. He didn't take his eyes off the faucet/water trickling once.
I filled a coffee mug to the top,and chased him around the basin a few times getting him wet, just watching the water roll off his back.

He stopped for a moment, raised his arms big eagle style, and shook his tail.Made one lap around the basin, and stop and repeat. ALL OF A SUDDEN he flops on his side, rolling around, shaking his arms wildly, his hat is sky high as he rubs his face on the basin bottom,singing/whistling/chirping his little heart out lol. At first I thought he was convulsing or was having a seizure
Uncle Joe was wide-eyed,jaw dropped to the floor, staring blankly into the sink. We couldn't believe what we were watching, lol. I think he loves bath time now! ( BB...not Uncle Joe :54:)

So now that I have a pretty good idea he is going to want to take a bath, next time camera will be at hand!!!

the best part of a good bath imo is when he's all wet and prickly and trying to dry himslef on my neck....you can't refuse....it's so cuddly.

Thanks for the Sunday morning laugh Jim, you just had to plant the whole Uncle Joe in the sink image didn't you?

So pleased that little BB has got into baths and is having a whale of a time, will it be a weekly occurrence now? :)

Perhaps Amy would like a ring side seat to give her ideas? I'll be showing Plum all of BB's bath time fun for sure!

Your writing is pretty darn good too, very amusing. :)

LOL...thanks K :D

Amy is more of a "shower girl" lol...she usually joins me, she's on her perch stick, then does a 180,upside down, waving her arms frantically, and yelling Amazon nonsense fairly loudly :green: :54:
Wish I had a water resistant/tight camera!

Cool go BB go!!! LOL :D

What does BB do if you lightly spray him with a water bottle?

Salty has yet to fully enjoy getting wet. I've tried spray bottle ( he eventually opens his wings up) to being in the shower with me on a permanent perch I installed in there ( he suffers thru it, and doedn't open his wings). ANd every time we are done he runs into his cage and takes bath in his water dish! So I know he would prefer a bath, but shallow water dishes left on his cage floor get pooped in and not bathed in. Nope it's his drinking water dish, every time. Jim, any suggestions on how to acclimate Salty to the sink ?

Gee Al...Smokes was just like Salty. She'd hunker down, draw in her arms, shake her head ( if I misted OR showered her) But,just like Salts..as soon as she was in her house...right to her water bowl she went...splish splashing until her water bowl was all over the newspapers..

Amy started out very early with the misting bottle ( my avatar is Amy in her favorite "shower tree" now no longer in my yard) and I could empty two or three bottles on her.
She is NOT keen on baths..sink,tub,bowl,etc..but has become very receptive of a shower, with me.

Al..it took BB...over a YEAR to finally figure out water is pretty groovy.:p
Like everything else with a fid Al..easy/consistent/praise/rewards!

Salty Boy is one very intelligent Parrot..I mean,if he can do taxes and swap out trannys...figuring water out should be a no brainer for him!

Aw this is great! The only one of my fids that has ever enjoyed bathing is Nigel. He leans back with his w inns wide open and says, "shower, shower, Nigel wants a shower!" Then gobbles like a chicken.

The pic of Beebs running around and rolling around in the water made my day.
