Bag of Feathers

My blue and gold macaw is going through his molt and I picked up as many feathers as I could. Now I am wondering what can I do with them? I am not artistic whatsoever so please do not say paint on them or make jewelry. I told my husband I was going to make another bird out of them. lol.

You could make a "bouquet" of feathers... or even a flat one and frame it! I saw one artist that cut shapes out of the feathers.... Maybe go to a craft store and buy a mask, then glue the feathers onto the mask?

Some people will also donate feathers to Native Americans for ceremonial purposes.

Hello,

Depending on the colour, you could sell them at a modest cost to someone who make their own flies for fishing. I once thought I would make a feather pillow. Another bad idea I wont do again.

I sent a good amount of feathers to somebody last year for free who wanted them for fishing flies. In exchange he agreed to make a fly for me to frame. I am still waiting. Lol.
