Hi, I had a nest for four years on my balcony and either last night or this morning it Brock I went and checked and there was three baby bird which fell from it sadly two died but one was still moving I gathered up the nest and put it into the box I've kept an eye out to see if mum had been going to check them but haven't seen any but my and my daughter gathered up some bugs and it seems to be very strong opening its mouth and eating no problem, even pooped in my hand.
I wanted to know if I should put a heat mat under the box or will the nest keep it warm and I know I should feed every few hours during day but when reading online it doesn't mention at night should I continue every few hours during the night as well?
I see a man on YouTube who had baby swallows of a. Day old and they look exactly like this one go guessing it could maybe be a day old.
The nest is unrepairable it was stuck from the roof to the wall and as baby's where hatching must of fell apart it old.

The heat pad is a good idea. BUT:

The more time, you are out and around the less mom will be able (comfortable) in visiting the nest.

So, set you feeding visitations time and do not hang around looking as you will only force mom to stay away.

The nest is no longer there I've brought the bird inside as its cold and raining outside. The nest was attached to the wall and completely collapsed I've been looking from downstairs in the garden the nest was upstairs

We have really big trees and loads of swallows flying around but none have been back on the balcony the nest was up High and fell apart I gathered what was left of the nest and put into the box and brought the bird in

Can you ask an animal rescue source for advice? If very young, won't survive without specialized feeding. Not sure how you could reunite with parents if the nest is broken.

I'm not sure I live in Cyprus and. A lot of rescues are for dogs and cats. Been feeding it dead bugs and cat food soaked in sugar water as I saw it suggested a lot online seems to be fighting strong considering the mighty drop it had

When my family rescued a baby Robin we fed it worms.
Look for a bait shop or fishing supply store for worms.
As for keeping it warm I think you will have to come up with something on the fly.
You can look up how to make a brooder on line.
there are some good ideas to be found but there are some BAD ideas to be found also.

At the moment because of virus all pet shops are closed tried to get fish food for the fish and was all shut but seems to be ok at the moment with the food I'm giving it I've got it in the nest that broke in a box on top of the heat mat been checking it sleeping at the moment and is pooing. I haven't had to force feed happily feeding on its own. Thank you for all the help

Glad to see success, hope this chick survives as tribute to the two who passed away. Please keep us updated, we love pics!!

Fully agree!

FYI: Stay with the bugs as they are the natural diet for swallows and therefore what mama would have been bring the baby swallow.

Sadly he/she didn't make it through the night I was checking on it through the night but seemed to not move but was breathing. I did read they sleep through night any ways then this morning wasn't interested in eating and movements were very slow and wasn't pick up head very well so I rubbed it softly in a cloth in case maybe it was cold and try to stimulate it but movements became slower and slower till not moving at all. The distance it fell I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
