Yellow sided green cheek conure baby
Hi all! I've had new baby green cheek for about a month now, and I just got him a new foraging box. It has lots of stuff in it, crinkle paper, different types of wood chips, those weaved up ball and star toys, etc. He loves the individual toys, and I've tried to get him used to actually getting in the box by putting his favorite treats inside to forage around for. He has gotten in a couple of times, but both times he he's had some forage material get caught up in his feet. It totally freaks him out and then he flies away. Is this normal? Will he get used to it? Do I need to take some stuff out so it's not so full?

My sun conure loves his foraging box! I loved to switch up the materials every week and he absolutely looks forward to it every week. If you don’t mind can you post a picture of the foraging box? My conure was a little timid about it at first but slowly adapted. Mine is made out of and old cereal box and it about less than half an inch. One side of the box is complete flat so it’s like a little entrance. Sometimes it helps if you pretend to play with it and it encourages them to try and do the same. Since your parrot sees you as part of their flock. I’ll try and upload a picture when I make a new one next week. This weeks foraging box is destroyed by my conure. I would recommend putting a little less at first just untill they get used to it.
