baby female eating her own poop.

hi, i have a baby female red sided and she is 8 weeks old, she's always busy playing and sleeping but i sometimes notice that she tries to eat her own poop before i can clean it up. i was wondering if anyone knew why?

How often are you feeding her? Is there food (albiet small amounts) readily available in her cage at all times? It could be that she is simply hungry, but at that cage she is also most likely less aware of her actions. Is there a way to have cage drops out of her reach?

She's probely eating it because she needs some vitamins. Are you giving her fruits and veggies? If your giving her pellets mix a cap full of 100 percent apple juice. I also reccomend taking her for a check up just to make sure everything is good
