Baby Eclectus on Pro-Biotics & Anti-Biotics?

Afternoon, I went to the Avian specialist today here in Raleigh, NC. They put Comet on both pro-biotics and anti-biotics which to me sounds a bit strange.

I do know there was some bacteria in his stool in my first visit that they were slightly concerned with; thus the initial course of pro-biotics.

The above, now attached to the previous behavioral irregularities has me worried. The Dr. said there's nothing at this point to worry about, that he's still a baby and maybe hasn't gotten used to the environment etc. yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm probably just overreacting.

I think pro biotic are great!! They would receive this from their parents at feedings.

I'm not familiar with your ekkie age, or other questions. But I linked a lot of baby and weaning articles yo to other posters earlier today

Not at all an unusual combination. Antibiotics kill off the bad bacteria, and the good ones as well, often causing digestive issues, ummmmm, loose stools, shall we say? Probiotics help replenish the good bacteria necessary in the digestive tract.

I guess the bigger question is, what are they trying to kill off with the antibiotics?
