Eight months is very young for your 'tiel to be laying eggs. But there again, they are a species that does appear to be prone to random egg laying. Is there anything in her environment that may have stimulated it, like a nest box or a dark hidey hole that she might view as a nesting site? Other factors might be if she is petted anywhere other than her head and neck, that kind of stimulus can have a whole bunch of unintended side-effects, up to and including egg-laying.
