I don't usually double post, but I thought this was insanely cute and needed its own thread. I think I'm a bit prejudiced in favor of this adorable little creature. :green:

Wow, her wing feathers are coming in nicely, and she gets cuter every post!

Ah, the amazon attitude is coming in (and so is her little tail)! "This Tupperware tub won't contain me much longer and then I will be into EVERYTHING" is what I think I heard her saying;) I think calling the raising of the wings "big eagle" is so cute. We've always called it "wing flares" when Kiwi does it and it's usually accompanied by a high pitched noise. Speaking of, I haven't heard a peep out of the baby. Is it just the camera not picking it up or are they really quiet? I'd expect some kind of peeping or mini squawks.

She doesn't do the typical begging noise very often, usually only in the mornings when she's really hungry. Instead, she whines like a puppy, especially while eating. XD I think this might have something to do with being the only bird in the clutch. She's adjusted her vocalizations to tug at my heart strings. If you listen carefully, in this video she "play growls" a few times. :)

Also, she's started mumbling while nodding off to sleep which I think is the precursor to mimicking conversations. Every baby Amazon I've been around has done this. It's kind of like the baby talk stage with humans. She's seeing what kinds of noises her voice can make.

She also growls if startled, but calms right down if I start rubbing her head or beak. Right now, she's set up in a 20 gallon long aquarium with a cardboard box to sleep in at one end and a small assortment of toys at the other (the spindle is still her favorite). That way she can feel safe while getting used to things. I do bring her out at feeding times and usually in between to get her used to all the crazy human things. She's also at the right age to start exploring. I used to put down a towel for my greys and put toys and food items on it. This time, I think I'll use a couple of old blankets and cycle between them. Then I have to order some Dri-Drek to put into the bottom of Gabby's old cage to create a weaning cage for her. I want to wait until there's no chance of breaking a blood feather, first.

I also want to purchase a table-top play area for her. Right now, I'm figuring out which pellets to order. :)

So much to do in so little time. I'd better get going!

Amazing! In just a few short days, her tail feathers are sprouting :)
