aviator harness update/trouble

we have slowly introduced our aviator harness to our tag who we have had for about 4 weeks...we had no problems putting his head in it...in fact we got to a point where we could get the straps over his wings with little trouble..........but then as we tightened the strap the trouble started....we even took him outside to see if he would calm down but he just kept picking at it...within a few minutes he figured out how to undo it! he also started picking holes in our shirts ....we of course brought him inside and i held him while lisa took the harness off....as soon as the harness was off it was like nothing had happened..no biting cloths or anything...like he taught us a lesson...i'm thinking i don't give up yet...maybe for the next couple weeks i'll try to start all over by putting it over his head and wings without tightening it....any advice would be great...thanks..
