Aviator Harness on Smaller Birds

Anyone else's conure have trouble flying while wearing the aviator harness?

Monkey had some trouble when I put it on her. She could still fly but she wasn't as graceful and couldn't go as far. I know she's tiny and her weight size wasn't even on the chart on the aviator harness. She weighs about 20 grams less than the lowest weight for the petite harness. She's around 55 and the lowest weight on the aviator is 75. She's my strongest flyer, so I'm hoping sometime in it she will get even stronger and be able to handle the extra weight of the harness. But she was out of breath after 10 minutes in it for this first time! I didn't realize the weight would be so significant for her....she can usually fly around for hours without issue.

I still have to try Monster in his, so we will see how he does in it next!

Panting could also be from stress, if the bird isn't used to the harness yet.

My gcc is 72 g but hasn't tried to fly in his.

interesting - Ethyl flies well in hers, but Henry not so much.

Scrap that.

Ethyl's an amazing flyer anyway. Henry not so much.
