As in.. Does any particular parrot species tend to love you at first sight, more than others?

DYH amazons always seem to crush on me, even when I was a little girl. I have a list of names on my heart that I wish I could have whisked away :green:

Not a parrot, but toucans! Fruit Loop is the grouchiest bird we have and I was warned when I started working with her to never turn my back on her and keep an eye on her at all times. She's attacked the one other woman I work with numerous times. She's never bit me once and I haven't had any grief with her. Now, she's not sweet and cuddly by any means, but I can interact with her and she enjoys it. We have a total of 3 toucans that are not exactly fan favorites among the workers, but me and them get along fine!

Big Macs... (especially) even the birds that attack other people, tend to be good with me.

Amazons... (most of the time)

Conures... (most of the time)

Cockatoos and Amazons always seem to fall in love with me.

I can usually make friends with almost any kind of parrot, large or small-- but Cockatoos usually like me instantly-- especially GSC2's and LSC2's. :)

Suns and Jendays, I have no clue why. Lol

If they are evil then I simply must play with them...

Evil birds are frequently the really friggin' smart ones...

And, even though these guys have hack saw blades, toucan bites are not as bad as most parrot bites.

Are they big on blueberries?! I can bring a basket with me...

Haha the toco and male keel bill at the other locations are actually pretty sweet and handleable (at least for me). But I get Fruit Loop cause everyone else is afraid of her and she definitely knows who to take advantage of and does it quite well. I came in one day and my self proclaimed bird whisperer co-worker I told you about had some tore up arms. I asked what happened and she said, "Oh that grouchy girl just came at me again when I was cleaning her cage and I couldn't get her off me!" LOL I've seen it myself and Fruit Loop cannot stand her. She did strike my husband and drew blood on him the other week too. Blueberries are the unanimous favorite and I hand feed them to her everyday. Also LOVES being misted.

I would love to say that I am! But I have no idea. My conure and I didn't have a magical click or anything like that, and my IRN was bluffing when he arrived. But if you saw how they interact with me now you'd think it was love at first sight!

Personally I love macaws. Amazons terrify me for no explicable reason... I think they're beautiful, but I'm terribly apprehensive of them. Cockatoos are adorable, but once again I would rather handle a big mac than I would a big 'too. I'm more comfortable with a macaw beak over a zon/too beak any day!

I have a highly unreasonable fear of Amazons. I have a suspicion it's because I was told how awful their bites can be. Truthfully, though, having had three Greys I now know I'd rather have a bird who has clear body language than a Grey who bites to the bone without warning.

As for birds who love me? My Ekkies, holy cow. I have never had a type. I've wanted a female Eclectus since I was 12 years old and now at 32 I finally have two in as many weeks. I have huge regrets about listening to the misunderstood stereotypes. They could have saved me so much heartache from having incompatible birds.

No. :( Lol! Unfortunately, I haven't met a species that considers me an ideal human! I haven't ever noticed a pattern anyway.
