Are smart vacuums safe?

Is this vacuum safe to use around birds? It is a Pure Cleam Smartrobot vacuum cleaner. I thought it looked pretty good but want to make sure i am not over looking anything. I have a Dyson as a primary but want to use this as a secondary vacuum to use often. We bought a different brand and despite various attempts and modifications have given up. Our blue and gold was absolutely terrified of it as soon as it started to move on its own and would start screaming at the top of his lungs. We do use it, just not around the birds and I definitely wouldn't have purchased it if I had known how scared he would be. Hopefully someone else here has tried it and had better luck.
