Are aloe vera and other "spiky" houseplants safe for birds?

I'm looking for safe houseplants for birds and I often notice "Aloe Vera" being recommended, but won't the spikes on the flower bother or hurt the birds?


I know there are different types of aloe vera plants but most of them do have spikes (thorns)
