Decided to start a thread for updates and pictures on Apollo just for convenience sake.

I got to hang out with him on Saturday and Sunday and he's such a good boy. He's quickly learning to step up and is getting better everytime I work with him. He still backs away a lot of he's I try to get him to step up from a flat surface but eventually he will step up.
On Sunday he ended up taking a bit too much formula and after he was given to me to hold onto after the feeding he regurgitated a bit of it x.x he still retained most of the formula, it was just a little bit.
He loves to flap his wings. Just sit there and flap his wings. He also took his first flight the other day... he went really far. Usually I see babies go maybe a couple feet before they're on the ground waiting for you to retrieve them, Apollo though? Oh no, he went several yards.
He seems to be doing really good and I see him picking at the food he's being weaned onto a lot. Here's some (or many) pictures of the boy, he loves my phone.

Gotta love that beautiful beaky little face! Adorable!!❤️

When BB is on my shoulder he presses his beak right against my cheek and starts singing/whistling in my ear. When I shift my eyes to look at him,his face looks just like the third photo of Apollo's. Its a little blurry to me because he is so close but that FACE just makes me melt!
I need to go let the little fluff boy out now! :D

"FEED MEEEE"
I love cockatiels... and don't worry he was fed soon after. Excuse the brightness my phone decided that the flashlight MUST be on. He's better than the other baby cockatiels when it comes to eating on his own and NOT crying for food near constantly even when they have a full crop but he still depends in the bottle. He's been keeping his weight around 80 grams i believe. I don't know if that's a good weight for a baby or not?

I've said it a bazillion times and I'll say it again.. there is NOTHING more heart-stoppingly precious than a joyous little 'tiel face caught in mid-rapture. THANK YEWWWWW!!!!!

Got some of Apollo's stuff in today. Some toys, 2 perches, and a bag of nutriberries. Hoping to get some more stuff + his cage today, but I'm not sure. FedEX doesn't have that great of tracking services... I am very unhappy with one of the perches though. Kind of my fault for not reading the listing on amazon more thoroughly but... it appears as a natural branch but it is not. It's some kind of plastic painted to appear as a natural branch. On the listing it say it's safe to chew but on the tag that comes with the product it says to not let your animal ingest portions of the product. Like don't worry, my animal isn't going anywhere near it.

On another note, I forgot to post about it but it was super cute. The other day at work I was holding Apollo and my co-worker had Eliot, and eclectus. I gave them both a popsicle stick to chew on, Eliot is a pro at it and just holds it in his foot and chews it, no big deal. Apollo was trying to copy him but couldn't quite get his foot all the way up while maintain his balance and it was very cute.

That's impressive especially since 'tiels aren't known for using their feet. Apollo, you the man!

Yeah, that's what I've heard. I was definitely impressed that he even attempted.

Seriously, my neighbors cockatiel never used it's foot to hold anything! He is a brainiac!!!! Must be trying to keep up with the Joneses!!!

here's Apollo being a doof and unable to hold the stick

Also I got his cage in today! still waiting on some more perches and toys but here's where we are at.

Not a very good picture but it's hard to take pictures of cages :c so far there's a rope perch, a boing, a kind of manicure perch, a grapevine perch, and the 3 dowels that came with it. Have 1 more natural wood perch that I want to put in but missing the washers and wing nut so need to go buy some. Have a bunch of other natural wood perches on their way.

He is so pretty, like he has tattoo angel wings over his real wings!

They said I might be able to take him home next week! They said they're taking him off the bottle tomorrow and if he maintains weight for at least a week I can bring him home. Obviously if he loses weight then he will go back on the bottle and they'll try again at another point but I'm excited!

I hope you let him fledge a d learn to fly. I'm sure you've read all the threads about that recently! ;)
