Hello.
I have a Indian redneck parrot that I bought who was around 2 months old. Its been a week I bought him and I feed him Cerelac (Nestle product) mixed with water. I feed him after around every 4-5 hours. The thing is, the salesman told me not to feed him water or anything except cerelac for a month or two. Was he correct? He is very playful and in sound health. His beak is not strong enough though atm (he cannot even rip bread lol) Any tips on what I should feed him and do tell me everything I should consider in taking care of him. This is my first time.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome!
I cannot help you with your questions as i have no experience with this, but am bumping up your question in hopes that someone else can help:)

hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure if Cerelac is the best since the IRN's I handreared was reared on a special handrearing formula that you should be able to find from a good pet supply store.

At his age he should gradually be able to start eating "solids" so a good idea will be to get a small packet of Budgie seed and mix a few seeds in with his Cerelac and see how he reacts to it. My limited experience of handrearing showed me that most birds slowly wean themselves off the formula so you'll notice your bird asking for less and less of the formula and feeding more seeds, fruits and other stuff.

Some of our more experienced members could perhaps tell you what worked better for them and what would be better for your bird at this age.
