I've been away since Friday afternoon, to our summerhouse with some friends and parents so someone had to look after my fids...
I left a friend to take care of the two small ones but Phoebus had to be with me as lately he has bonded much with me to the point that he won't eat or play much when I'm not at home as my parents told me that check on him when I'm away..(What should I do with that?I know it's bad for him and can't find a way to change it..Will I not be able to move from now on?I am having quite a panic on this issue.:( )
So he came with me 1 hour drive(after having 3+3 flights clipped) and settled in well(Friday he was a little numb, Saturday much better and today he was 100% normal). The house is very close to the sea, next to a river and quite in the forest, it combines all).
I let him sit out on top of his cage(which I hardly managed to put in the car!) for as long as he wanted. He has never left the top of cage for the last 15(almost) days.People were going into and out of the house all the time and the door was almost always open.
And then he took off, I was in front of the door entering that moment and managed to stop him.:eek: He flew back to his cage.
I was shocked. What was I thinking? What if he flew away, he can't take much height but the forest is a forest!I still cannot realize what I did!

Thank God he is now sitting next to me, back home asking for head scritches..:)

Ekkk! Scary ... glad you stopped him though and that all turned out well.

OMG, that must have been real scary for ya. I'm glad that you managed to stop him from getting out. They can sure move when they want to can't they.

pheobus, oh my gawd, I am so, so glad that your birdie did not escape ... what a freightening experience!

I don't know where you are located, but you might want to check this out:

A reputable, bonded and insured, pet-oriented pet sitter may be just what you need.

It was really freightening Deanna!

I live in Greece and there is no such thing here(pet sitter).
I'm happy everything turned out this way..:)
You know these moments a thousand ''whatifs'' cross your mind..
What if he wasn't clipped at all?
What if I entered 10'' later?(the other people were scared of him, they would just get out of his way letting him out)
......

They can sure move when they want to can't they.

You bet they can Peta..
I recently found out!

I have no problem with that!:D

I think I could do that forever!;)
(payment not obligatory...:p)

Phoebus got two new toys today and he is really happy especially with the rope thing, he loves ropes...the other one has colours which the petshop owner told me are naturally produced and they are from a firm something, but colour comes out on my hands if I rub them softly. Is that a problem?

It shouldn't be, did they come from a pet store, just read your post and yes they did, so no it shouldn't be a problem. :D

You could give the pet store a ring and find out exactly what has been put on it, and explain that the colors come off when you rub them, Its probably the same kinda stuff they use to color woods, You may find that when Pheobus goes on them the color may come off on her feet, but Bucc has had red, green, purple and yellow feet in the past.:D
