Hi all. My name is Cheryl and to let you know a little about me. I am a retired Pediatric nurse of 33 years. a previous mommy of a tiel(Sam). And
I have had several careers running concurrently with my nursing career. I had a successful pastry and cake bakery as well as reptile breeding business. All those careers ended when life got in the way for a bit.
As with everything life goes on and I am now ready for another bird. I am trying to do as much homework as I can before getting a new baby. I am interested in a parrot esp a Timneh Grey or something else about that size, clownish, intellegent and character.
I have a disabled daughter and her family living with me so not much cash but plenty of time, now that the youngest child is in school, to share with a new pet.
I had Sam for several years until I had to go out of town to help with ailing parents and my Pastor and family was bird sitting for me. They had him out on the sunny back deck and a bad storm came up while at church. The cage was blown off and he was never seen again. There were feathers and a happy Chow though.
As much as I missed him I had to remember it was an accident. He was really funny though. Anyone coming to visit had to be interrogated by him. He was polite and introduced himself before the questioning began.
So much for the past and on to the future and new memories.
