Hello,
My name is Jason. I live in southeast Texas and currently have two birds: a Green Cheek Conure (Smoke, 4 yrs) and a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo (Zoe, 2yrs). My third feathered buddy, Teo (Congo Grey, 3 mos.), is just about weened and is coming home on May 15th. I'm super excited! I've browsed this forum several times and decided to join to have more opportunities to "talk" birds with other "bird people." Not many of my friends and co-workers seem as taken with my birdies as I do. So... glad to be here.
Just in case anybody reading this has a suggestion, I am slightly worried about the following...
I have three separate cages for my birds. All three have been cleared by my avian vet and are in good health. When the baby Grey comes home next week I would like to house him is the same room as the other two (which actually my living room, where I spend the majority of my time). What risks are involved with not quarantining the Grey? Are there behavioral risks? I kept the Too and the GCC separated initially, but while they tolerate each other now, they certainly do not "like" one another. I hope for a smooth transition for my Grey and appreciate any suggestions. Thanks to all for reading! It is nice to be here!
