Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(
And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...I still can't figure this Bird out, even after almost thirty years The kids were low on supplies,BB's fruity pellets and Amys' Roudybush medium maintenance pellets. The only pet store around that carries them is P**S**** in the next town over, ( I know I know! order them online!) I would normally do that, but the ride to the store is something Amy loves, and who am I to deny him that!!??
As soon as we get in the car,he yells out "Go for a ride!!" How the heck does he even know that?? I could be there in less than fifteen minutes if I took the highway, but what fun would that be? So I take the "scenic route" thru town
It was a beautiful fall day...in the low sixties with plenty of sunshine, windows open. Amy on my right shoulder wide-eye'd as usual, sometimes talking in words, other times in Amazon speak. But it is the inflections in his voice that amaze me. At times he'd look at me and say something (unintelligible) with a question tone to his voice, and other times it would sound like he was making a statement (!!!!)
At a couple red lights someone would honk the horn and wave and Amy would yell something back..it was too funny!
It didn't stop at the store either. Inside it was words he hasn't said in a very long time ( Hello Amy..ELLEN! (moms name) James! (my son) ) and just other mumbles. He chatted with the Budgies, visited the finches, even eye-balled the little kittens in their glassed-in cubbys.
BUT...it was on the ride home that was truly amazing. He GENTLY nibbled and licked my ear Demanded head skritches, even let me grab his beaky between my thumb and forefinger and let me rub it,then took my finger in his beak and softly mouthed it. He NEVER does that at home!! NEVER!! I wanted to ask him "what have you done with Amy???"
And did I mention the soft/sweet gurgles and coo'ing he did?
He really loves his car rides. I now need to get a dash-cam to record all of this!
So sorry folks for posting this once again,it's a broken record, but when he is like this it just makes me so happy I get the need to post :07:
