Sulfur Crested Cockatoo
Hello, I'm a newbie to this Forum, and indeed to the parrot world!

I've just joined as I'm keen to learn as much as I can as I'm just about to inherit, (a little reluctantly, but am willing to give it my best shot!) a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. I've been researching as much as I can as I know I have a few behaviour challenges ahead that I hope to overcome in time.

Cheers,

Roo

Thanks tab and henpecked! Yes, I agree tab, there is HEAPS to learn. I'm really keen to learn how to interpret cockatoo bird behaviour to understand our new arrival quickly when he arrives here. There's also lots to learn about diet, environment, and foraging stimulation activities. Hopefully we will be able to bring a little joy into his life (and ours too!). :)

Thanks Antoinette for your kind words.

I am a little nervous, but it's more of the 'unknown'. I just hope that it all works out!

Nothing to be nervous about........ :p
Of course it will all work out fine.

Many members began exactly where you are starting out, and have managed, and enjoying their birds.

Continue gaining as much knowledge as possible, browse around the forum, so much to learn from.

Hi Roo, Cocky Boy looks like a Gem. I have met a couple of Sulphurs and they are such big cuddly softies, I have wanted to bring them home with me. Unfortunately their owners wouldn't let me... Boo Hiss...
I'm sure you get lots of help if you do have any behavioural issues, there are plenty of people on here ready to jump in and help when you need it.
Enjoy.
