Hello, my 5 year old double yellow headed amazon is continuously making annoying sounds similar to groaning or moaning as if it wants somerhing. I truly have no idea what it could be as my parrot is well fed, hydrated and physically active. I doubt this noise is learnt from my family members or television because we have never heard or done it before. It has been doing it for roughly 2 years now and he still does it even when I try to play with him. I have videos of my parrot doing it. Could you please respond to me when you read this. I'd appreciate it a lot. Thank you.

My YNA makes this whining keening sound. He makes this noise only when he goes into his box to play. It always makes me think he is sad cuz it sounds sad.

I did not mean to end my post there.

My YNA also makes a kind of groaning sound when he is grooming his feathers.
This is a new noise and I posted a short video of him making that noise.
Is your bird doing something specific when he makes the noise?

Personally, I love a noisy Amazon! In fact the more noise the better as it states their joy of life.

What your DYH Amazon is providing is an opportunity for you to develop a line of communication with your Amazon! Simply try returning the same sound! It may surprise you when your Amazon answers you back!

This is simply your Amazon keeping in touch with you! They are called contact calls and are well worth your time to return and become part of...
