Hi, can anyone advise me on getting a second parrot, I have a green cheek conure and he's very bonded with me but attacks anyone else who comes in the house, he's very hand tame but nips at me constantly.
I was wondering if a birdy friend would take the pressure off of me, if so, male or female, and would it have to be a conure:confused:

I'm not the one to give advice where conures are concerned. I don't like them and have much more experience with the larger new world parrots. All that being said, there's basically 3 outcomes when adding another bird with your bonded pet. !st , your pet will hate it like it hates everyone but you. 2nd , it will fall in love with the new bird and hate you. 3rd, everyone will be friends. With what little history i have about your situation i'd venture the outcome will be #1. Never get another bird as a companion for your companion bird. Only get another bird if YOU want another pet. Don't plan on it working out, it rarely does. The already established, bonded pet will rarely be happy to share you.
