Just wanted to give everyone an update and say thank you to everyone. Ell (previously elvis before we realized its most likely a she) has made a lot of progress. i had started to second guess myself the last time i posted but thanks to Birdman i kept at it and made great progress. She still hasnt learned to step up out of the cage but will step up for me anywhere else including the perch. Her confidence still isnt where i'd like it to be since she will still get nervous and try to bite but its much less than what it was at first. But it is up enough that plexiglass was needed at the bottom of the cage since she decided its a great game to taunt my male shepherd by going to the bottom of the cage and charging him. She's also turning into a mush, while walking with her if she gets scared she'll now bury her head into my shoulder and has been slowing working her way up my arm when out to try and be closer to me.
i also have to add she went from a bird that was a "screamer" all day (as told to me by her previous parents[or is it parronts? ]) to being a very quiet bird. She'll make light sounds here and there and make her happy noises when i pay attention to her or when i get home from work. I'm told if i'm not home she wont make a sound and just lets my grey do all the talking lol
i just wanted to share to both say thank you and put another postive story out there for anyone considering a rehomed macaw
