Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...So y'all know I've been concentrating on sliming down Amy. I'm not quite as anal in weighing as I was,now it's maybe twice a week. I'm happy with the results :D After the discovery of her heart situation she has gone from 548g's to 505 in six months.
Before being served brunch and after the morning boon she weighed in at 507.

The elimination of seed, except for two or three nutraberries and no more people food, maybe a French fry from uncle david and her very small piece of bread and peanut butter for her daily meds. I've been experimenting with fresh chop, the freeze-dried chop, and the birdie muffins.

Her daily flap flap lessons are more energetic and she is playing more and being vocal and just being her typical Amazon self :p

Congrats Amy and all! Especially during the holidays it’s hard to keep ones slim figure!

This is amazing progress! Interesting that you can see a difference in her energy levels too. Good work!

Well done Amy and Jim!
Glad to read Amy is feeling better.

I think it is safe to say I found and kept each and every gram Amy lost :D

I am so proud of you both! Cookies for everybody!

No, wait, sorry...

Carrots for everybody!

Go Amy! The less junk food she has, the better healthy food will taste to her/more willing she'll be to eat it..

I bet she will soon prefer to flap most places rather than just sit on your hand. Kiwi may not fly but he does like using his wings while being transported (most of the time) and it's good exercise.

Thought of this thread when i saw this [emoji23]

No more doughnut-shop trips? Booo!

That's Amy talking, not me...Congrats, that's a good, steady, safe weight-loss over time for Amy...I'm impressed...Amy, probably not so much, lol...

I've been trying everything to get my Quaker to eat more chop/veggies, she is the only one who just doesn't like anything "green"....Two things I've found that have worked like a charm and gotten her to eat every single chop recipe I've made: Adding EITHER (not both at once) a small amount of egg-white chopped-up into little tiny bits and mixed into the veggies, or adding a small amount of regular old oatmeal (plain oats) and mixing it into the veggies....She goes crazy for either and eats all the veggies/greens too! And it's not much that I've been adding at all, just a teaspoon or so of the oats, which I actually haven't been doing as much now that I've tried and succeeded with the egg-whites...And I use the "Egg-Beaters" egg-whites, so even healthier for them...I just microwave the amount for 1 egg in a container for a minute until it's cooked, chop it up into little bits with the side of a fork, and then mix it into the chop...Works like a charm!

I like the idea of just egg whites Ellen..thanks I'll give that a shot next time they get eggs..Amy does like her scrambles and BB is starting also but they only get them once or twice a month. Uncle David will be off from work until the first of the year as of Wednesday and he said he's planning on making brekky for all of us Wednesday morning :D and I'm sure he'll include the kids..no bacon for them! I'll try and get photo's to post of them ignoring-noshing-throwing things around lol.

Yeah, the egg-whites have worked incredibly well! The little pieces stick to the veggies/greens in the chop, and Lita just grabs anything that egg-white is stuck to and down it goes...It's the only thing that has worked to get her to eat veggies or greens at all, prior to adding the egg-whites the only veggie she would occasionally touch would be a green-bean here and there, but not often...Now she's loving all the chop recipes I make it's like she doesn't even realize that there are vegetables stuck to those egg-whites!

Way to go Amy and Jim!

Anytime they use those huge Wing driving muscles, they energy-up and slim down. It is also great for their Heart and Air Sacks!

Lea, And after all these years, I find the answer as to why they eat the woodwork! Thank-you for the insight!
