Ok, so I will FINALLY be bringing my GCC baby home within a week YAY!
I am all set up as we have been preparing for this for MONTHS! I have done a lot of research on caring for a GCC (thanks to you lovely people!) We have an awesome big new cage, an abundance of toys my husband has forbidden me to buy any more Pellets in stock, spinach and zucchini growing in the garden and fresh fruit and veggies in the fridge.... BUT!
I suddenly realised that I have no idea how much food to offer! I was planning on offering a chop mix for breakfast and dinner with pellets during the day. (will check with my breeder how he has been presenting fresh food also). How much fresh food (i.e. chop mix) should I offer morning and night and how much of the pellets? I understand that, like people, each bird will be different (my 2 year old eats more than my 8 year old!) but was wondering if you could provide a rough estimate of how much you give your bird? I just don't want to either waste food or not give him enough?
Thanks heaps.
