So Bosley is doing really well and we've come a long way.
He is cuddly at times, eats well and healthier than when I got him, goes in his cage at night. He is active, alert, vocal and everything an amazon should be.
Still working on step ups, some success, not consistent yet, but better.

OK here is the behaviour I am trying to figure out what to do with.

Bosley screams for me if I leave the room and my hubby is in the same room with him, or if hubby is with me in another room eg kitchen.

Now if it's just me and Bosley at home, I can come and go as I want.
Hubby talks nice to him, gives him treats, plays guitar for him,

Ignore it. We had the same problem and we kept trying to ignore it but it was so hard because she'd be quiet all day until the second person came home, so it was frustrating. But after 2 weeks now of completely ignoring it (for the first month we would ignore it on and off and then cave) she is quiet again.

Codie has done this from the day I bought her home as a Baby! If it is just me here, then she is fine, but as soon as someone else is here in the same room and I walk away then she screams!

I have been trying to cure her of it for 14 Months and have no success, so I have just learnt to live with it now.

JUST an idea. Don't know if it will work or not: Before you leave the room, re-arrange some of his toys, and/or put a new one in there (or one he hasn't played with for a while). This "may" keep him busy long enough not to care that you are leaving because he will be too busy checking out what you did in/around his cage. :)

Like I said, JUST an idea ;) We'll brainstorm together...hopefully we'll come up with something that will work for Bosley.

I have tried everything known to Man Wendy and absolutely nothing works:( I dont even take any notice now, I just take it in my stride and know it is part of what Codie does!! Its a bit like having a Child cry when you leave the Room LOL

I have tried rearrangement of toys, not even favorite treats stop this.
We have tried ignoring, maybe not as forcefully as we should.

If I take him on his playstand into the dining room he is fine and I can leave him there to go to the other rooms as long as hubby doesn't come in the dining room or I don't go back to the living room. LOL

It doesn't cause a huge problem and we do work around it, but want him to be secure and happy and trying to curb problems before they get son ingrained.

He will take treats from hubby when I am there, but when I am at work he throws them back at him, he is quiet when I am out though.

LOL, but children grow up, parrots don't

Wendy, I disagree ;) It's not a bit like having a child...it's EXACTLY like having one. :D They ARE like children...and SO very clever on top of that.

I am the first to admit that my fids have trained me quite well. :54: But it's all good.

Also, if he's screaming after you, then you KNOW how much he loves you. :D

he he.. Yes, I have figured that one.. Thats why it doesn't bother me anymore, as I know its because Codie loves me:)

While I am sitting here on the Computer, he is chatting away to me, but the minute I get up, he instantly starts getting agitated, as if to say.. Oh No.. she is off somewhere.. I will just have a little scream to let her know that I am not happy about her moving LOL

LOL, Wendy :)

You know, Niko tried the screaming a few times when I just walked out of sight in the house, so I decided FINE, let me take you with me. So he's been to my bedroom as I'm getting changed (didn't like it in there, nothing to see or do), been to the office (didn't like it there either..wasn't allowed to chew on things), AND he's even been "potty" with me.

Now, each time I walk out of sight he hollers "bye bye", and I reassure him: "No Niko, I'm not going anywhere". They are just TOO smart for their own good sometimes. :)
