Aloe spray

My rose crown conure plucks his flight and tail feathers in the winter despite my best efforts which include a humidifier and full spectrum lighting. Someone here recommended an aloe spray. I am wondering - can I make my own with goo from my aloe plant? Is there any risk of toxicity? I have read that aloe is toxic, but I've also read about people who just straight up feed their pets aloe, so I am not sure what to think!

Aloe is actually non-toxic. And yes, if you have an aloe vera plant at home you can slice off a chunk, squeeze the gel out and apply. :)

Or you can buy aloe vera gel WITHOUT any additives and use that.

Good to know! I will make use of my plant for sure... why buy bottled when I can have fresh for free!

Look out Toby... you're going to be sprayed soaking wet tonight!!
