Hello ppl just got my self a 12 week old alexandrine yesterday i know it needs feeding every 4-5hrs at 102 so it will be 4 feeds aday but the breeder told me to feed it at 10 pm and leave it till 8am not sure why would love to know. how much should i play with him do they need alot of sleep so like 5 mins when feeding or more ? my room is at 24.4 c at all times with a heat mat under one harth of the box what would you lot put as bed in i got some cotten pillo`s case to put under and some kitchin rolls and wood cuttings like you have for hamster cages and so on anythnk i should put in with the baby maybe a soft to for it to cuddle with or ? any if you guys/girls could pass on would be great i have read loads online but tbh better getting info off ppl with the bird them selfs i am also useing a mix call kaytee exact hand feeding formula that tbh i did`nt get all the info needed of the breeder he show me and that but tbh i am one of them ppl that likes it dead on so could some one who use the feed send me the right amount i need food to water doing like 3/4 a table spoon atm and around 25 ml of water but it just dose not look right how he showed me but really dose not look the same :P and i got given a box with a lid on that need to be kept on top cause i feel it would like some light haha :P thanks for reading and will be nice to hear from you lot :orange: Sorry for the bad spelling :P come on ppl do not just look at the post plz put in some tips if you have breed befor or hand feed a baby bird if you think its unhumen then was it really safe there to be salling it this young i know some ppl have them view seen it on forum post`s already so plz do not comment if it dose not help. look at my pov you not give in info to help out is more evil then just sitting and watching or reading in this case :P

I'm not being hard-hearted or mean!

Unless you have been trained and have practiced the methods involved in hand-feeding, your Alexandrine should have stayed with the breeder until it was fully weaned to solid foods. There are just too many things that do go wrong at 3:00 that you are not prepared to handle.

Strongly consider returning your parrot to the breeder tomorrow morning.

Yes, it is fully possible to 'Do It Yourself' and Get Lucky. It is just as possible of losing your parrot to any number of problems based on just not knowing.

An 'Ethical' Breeder would not have allowed you take an un-weaned parrot home!

The BEST TIP: Be an Ethical Owner!

SORRY, just looked at your Thread's date and noted that it has been around for awhile. At this point, you have either gotten very lucking or not.
