Budgie
Hi Guys.

Serious question.

Bought 2 budgies almost 2 weeks ago. Thank goodness they are fine and getting tamer by the day (3 mth old) :green1::green:

Just checking as I already own a Novita Air Purifier (one of the models with HEPA filter and more), and confused.

Shop keeper said aircon is ok as long as air purifier is on and not too cold for the aircon (26-28°)

Another shop keeper from another store said aircon will kill them even with the air purifier....... which makes/made me even more confused...

But I was thinking if they are from native Australia, isn't it super cold at night? (Even if they migrate there will still be nights where it hits 15° or lower)

So.... what say You? Aircon at 26-28° with air purifier or just an old fashion fan especially during our super hot days?

Do let me know in the comments and your experiences :)

Thanks

The only concern with air purifiers is ionizers - which can kill birds. If you have a unit that can has a switch built in to turn the ionizer on or off, then keep it off.

Wouldn't worry if the temp got down to 20° C or a bit below that, personally. Birds can handle cooler temps better than warmer ones - that's what feathers, particularly down feathers are for! :)
