African Grey Weight

Hi Guys,

My perch scale has finally come. I first weighed Marty and he came in at exactly 400 grams. Then I weighed Baby and she weighed 428 grams.

Are these normal weights? They are both 5 to 6 years old.

I have to say I was kind of surprised as Marty looks bigger or maybe Baby just hides her weight better. Since living with me they both eat the exact same thing although they both like different things better than the other one does. Most days he eats everything and she picks but some days it's the other way around.

They both fall well within the normal weight range for Greys. What you want is consistent weights, with no sudden or unexplained weight loss.
