As this is a great story, This reminds me of when we got burgled, we were all in bed and I heard the grey downstairs start going mental in his cage screeching squawking and flapping I immediately knew something was wrong so woke my partner and when we went down there was a bloke in our living room. If it hadn't of been for our grey we probly wouldn't of known he was there atall and he could of cleaned is out! They r very clever birds

Birds! Gotta love them. We had a nosy visitor that our security cameras caught getting too close to the back windows of our house. He wasn't chased away by the dog-it was the rooster who nailed his thieving butt. Mr. Steele flogged that man all way across the yard and continued to attack as the trespasser scrambled into the woods. Mr. Steele still crows about his brave deed.

A larger parrot in attack mode is a very frightening thing. I'm not surprised the attacker ran off. Lucy the amazon had to be locked up whenever stranger would come around. No one ever burgled my parents, but she sure though repairmen were out to get the family and would react accordingly if not padlocked in her cage. Quite a few grown men were frightened almost to the point of tears by the winged demon.
What a great story! I just wonder, did the guy not see the grey when he attacked her? Did he think she was flying a kite or what??

I think the grey was on her shoulder, and I wonder whether that was actually what he was going for. I've heard of people's homes being broken into and just their big parrots getting taken. It's not unusual in the UK for pets to be stolen-to-order. Anyone who knows what they go for, and who would see such a tame well-behaved one sitting on a shoulder in the park, would know the value of it. I bet he saw it and just saw a price tag!
