my African grey recently developed a lump on his face between his eye and his beak and he keep scratching it with his legs or the side of the cage. he allows me to touch when i'm patting him and doesn't seem hurt when i do. i'm afraid it might be a tumor since it feels a little hard under the skin but i'm no vet!! i will schedule a vet appointment but wanted to check if someone has dealt with something like it before. please check the pictures attached.

Welcome to you! I am no help in diagnosing this, but your actions in going to the vet are perfect, thank you!

It looks pink under the skin which might indicate an infection. if it were my bird I'd get a vet appointment immediately. Lost one bird to a recalcitrant sinus infection and not over it yet.

Very hard to know what is happening with your Grey, but a visit with an avian vet as soon as possible will be helpful.

Did you notice the lump suddenly or had it been getting larger over time?

I'm in agreement that is likely an infection.

Keep us informed as to what your AV states.
